At physiologic pH, chlorhexidine salts dissociate and release the positively charged chlorhexidine cation. The bactericidal effect is a result of the binding of this cationic molecule to negatively charged bacterial cell walls. • Use 3 ml of SteriMicro- Hand Rub (2 pushes of dispenser) on clean DRY hands, rubbing for 30 sec. for Hygienic Hand Disinfection.

• Rub 9 ml of SteriMicro- Hand Rub for 1.5 - 3 minutes on clean DRY hands, up to elbows for Surgical Hand Disinfection.
